GPSR:
General Product Safety Regulations
The European Union's (EU) General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), effective from December 13, 2024, aims to ensure products placed on the EU market are safe, expanding the scope of product safety obligations to include online sales and new technologies, requiring businesses to ensure products are safe by design and provide detailed information to consumers.
As of 2026, this regulation applies across the 27 European Union Member States, as well as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Northern Ireland. However, safety applies to all.
